I began close to the code and have remained close to the consequences of technology decisions ever since.

Across 30 years, my work has moved through software engineering, enterprise architecture, product development, technology leadership, entrepreneurship and applied AI. That progression shapes how I advise today: technically grounded, commercially aware and focused on what an organisation can responsibly build and sustain.

Career Progression

From engineer to CTO

Across 30 years, the work has moved through four connected phases—each one informing how I advise on decisions that matter.

  1. Engineer

    Started close to the code—building production software and learning how systems behave in real operating conditions, not only in diagrams and specifications.

  2. Architect

    Moved into enterprise and product architecture: platforms, integrations and technical foundations designed for complex business environments and lasting change.

  3. Technology Leader

    Led teams, products and major technical decisions—balancing delivery pressure with cost, risk and long-term maintainability.

  4. Founder & CTO

    Co-founded technology businesses, leads Proppify’s technology direction as Co-Founder & CTO, and remains actively involved in enterprise AI through ANT.
